Must have been a great sight, seeing the little spiders float away DD.

It was, but to see my son go gape-mouthed, experiencing up close what he has only read about is a treasure that I will keep close to my upper thoughts for all time.

Took a long drive up and around the north country of Maine and down into NH.  Will post pics once Amber gets her camera uploaded.

Got home from my parents again, great train trip with the girls. I dropped them off at a station where their Dad awaited them, and had half a day just for me.  Cool
Tidied quite a lot in the livingroom. Harvested mustard greens. Chatted a while, till the girls got home, completely knackered but content. Had a marvellous dinner. And, while the kids were having their last game and last drink before bed, I oiled one of my couches. Will do the other one tomorrow. Looks a lot better.

Organising a sleep over for a mate of mine and offered to escort him to meet a potential male partner he met online in Bristol next week. (He's bisexual.)

I've known this guy since secondary school, and I'm not biased against having bi or gay friends. Mel's bi.

you don't have to say it, then.  Wink

starting packing in earnest (i'm still reluctant to pack, as i'm paranoid the sale will fall through).  at the last count, i'd packed twenty-three boxes of books.  and i haven't started on the cookery, gardening, writing and craft books yet. :-/

i was so tired after that little effort yesterday (it took me about five hours) i couldn't focus enough to speak to pea when he phoned.  still, onwards and upwards.  now all i have to do is to get some more boxes (i thought i had loads, but i've nearly run out just with the books Cheesy ).

Ah yes, that brings back memories, my biggest piles of stuff to box were books and records.  OY

i lied - it was twenty-five boxes.  Cheesy  and another two today, with another two to come.  at least...

trouble is, i'm hitting the "better not pack that until the last knockings" stage, which is a pain.  you know, all that stuff in the kitchen, my knitting and spinning stuff, clothes, etc., etc.  what a pain.

still, it'll be at least four weeks before i move (if everything goes to plan), so i don't know why i'm panicking. i can pack up and move in a week, if needs be (done it often enough).

Oh, poor you Ozy. My sympathies.  laugh

Good luck with packing Lucifer. One of the times I moved, I was so proud of efficiently packing my books in time, weeks before I had to leave. And then I realised I had used way too big boxes for them. Never thought about how heavy the books were. So, I had to do all my books again, in smaller boxes. That was a one time only mistake.  Tongue

Upside was that I did have some very good big boxes for lighter stuff.

yep, i did that once, many years ago.  now i have specific, smaller boxes for books.  and as i've had to lug most of them around various rooms, i'm confident they're not too heavy.  (mind you, you should see my biceps  yikes ).
